Instructor Kyle McWilliams awarded black belt

Instructor Kyle McWilliams has become only the second person in New Zealand history to be awarded a Black Belt in Cacoy Doce Pares Eskrima.

Kyle is a senior Instructor & Student at NZ Cacoy Doce Pares and trains Doce Pares directly under Master Leigh Jenkins. Kyle underwent his Black Belt grading under Grandmaster Vincent Palumbo earlier in the year and was formally awarded his belt during the awards ceremony for the Cacoy World Federation Stickfighting Championships, in Cebu City. It was a memorable occasion with Kyle being privileged to receive his black belt and certificate from Supreme Grandmaster Cacoy himself – a huge honour.

We would like to offer our congratulations to Instructor Kyle for his admirable achievement, especially when consideration is given to the injuries he has overcome to achieve this success. Kyle is a great ambassador and representative for Doce Pares both within our school and in New Zealand.
