Stickfighting History Made in New Zealand
Over Labour weekend 2008 NZ Cacoy Doce Pares hosted the NZCKEAI NZ Stickfighting Championships. Master Leigh Jenkins selected for commemorative stamp album
Earlier this year, the Chinese Government invited Master Jenkins, along with selected contemporary Kung Fu Instructors from around the world to have his image included in the Chinese Kung Fu Stamp Album and Limited Edition Collectors' Album in appreciation of his contribution and achievement in Chinese Kung Fu. The Stamp Album is to be published worldwide before the opening of the 2008 Beijing Olympics in August 2008.

Sifu Jenkins First NZ'er Awarded Master Rank In Cacoy Doce Pares Eskrima
Over 3 days at the beginning of March 2008 Sifu Jenkins attended the International Mixed Martial Arts Seminar held in Cebu City, Philippines and hosted by Supreme Grand Master Ciriaco Cacoy Canete. At the conclusion of the seminar Sifu Jenkins was promoted to the rank of Master and at the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was awarded Most Valuable Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. >> read more

Master Vince Palumbo recieves the title of Grand Master
By the end of the 4th Cacoy Doce Pares World Federation Sport Stick Fighting Tournament Master Vince Palumbo amounted a total of 13 fighting medals and the honour of being awarded Grand Master and 9th Dan Black Belt in Cacoy Doce Pares Eskrima. >> read more

Stick Fighting Fun Day!
On the 13th October, 17 students attended the introductory ‘how to’ sport stick sparring day held by Sifu Leigh Jenkins. Students new to sparring and who wanted to give it a go joined in using padded sticks to assist with reducing impact and prevent the possibility of injury. >> read more

Grand Master Palumbo & ICMA Academy Fighters Demonstrate the sport of Stick Fighting at the Adelaide 36’ers Basketball Game!
On the 6th October 2007 Master Palumbo and his team of ten sport stick fighters demonstrated single and double stick fighting as well as Kaluta where no armour is worn to a huge crowd of spectators attending the Adelaide 36’ers Basketball game. >> read more

2007 Cacoy Doce Pares Eskrima World Championships, Jakarta, Indonesia
For the first time in history a NZ team attended the Cacoy World Federation Sport Stick Fighting tournament held this year in Jakarta.  Participants from all over the world attended the event which saw two NZ fighters awarded a silver and gold medal in the double stick division for their respective weights. >> read more

Inaugural North Island NZCKEAI Get Together
Over the weekend of the 23rd June 07 the NZCKEAI Council of Instructors held the first North Island get together in Auckland.  A number of clubs from both the north and south island attended the event that was held over two consecutive days.  Day one consisted of sparring in the different formats and styles, and day two saw a variety of seminars covering different topics in Filipino martial arts held. >> read more

Future of Filipino Martial Arts Cemented with the 1st South Island Interclub Seminars
On Saturday, 12th May 2007 the first South Island Interclub Sport Stick-fighting sparring and seminars were held at the NZ Doce Pares Eskrima school in Christchurch. Visitors from both Dunedin and Nelson schools attended the event making it a big success. >> read more

2006 Chinese Lantern Festival: Christchurch
NZ Wing Chun was pleased to be invited to demonstrate at the Christchurch Lantern Festival over the 25 th and 26 th February 2006. Instructors Kyle, Hugh, Edward along with students John Watson and David Millar took centre stage to demonstrate Wing Chun Kung Fu and Stick Fighting techniques (defence and attack), forms and fight sequences.

The demonstration was well received by the hundreds of people enjoying the cultural performances on the main stage area. We look forward to being involved in the festival in 2007.

Grandmaster’s visit to NZ 2005
In May 2005 NZ Wing Chun was honoured to welcome Grandmaster Chu Song Tin to the school. This was the Grandmaster’s first visit to New Zealand and the school was fortunate enough to host the Grandmaster for a one off seminar during his stay. NZ Wing Chun hosted Kung Fu students from Christchurch, Timaru and Auckland who all enjoyed the once in a lifetime experience of training with the Grandmaster. >> read more
